Build a context pack with one reader decision, the original evidence, unresolved facts, constraints, and a definition of a usable output. Keep the task instructions distinct from the source material.
In this guide
Choose one decision and one deliverable
Name who will use the result and what they need to decide. A product description, a supplier comparison, and a meeting summary need different source material and checks.
For a store listing, the reader may need to know whether the item fits a space. Give the exact product model and external dimensions rather than asking the draft to fill the gap.
What does a filled context pack contain?
Use this practice pack to gather evidence before writing. Add the task instructions after assembling the material.
READER: buyer measuring a narrow desk DECISION: will model TRAY-S fit? SOURCE P1: external dimensions 30 × 20 × 3 cm SOURCE P2: packing list does not specify dividers OUTPUT: fit explanation plus measuring steps QUESTION: confirm included parts with product owner
Prepare the context pack before drafting
TASK: [One deliverable] READER AND DECISION: [Who needs to decide what?] ORIGINAL EVIDENCE: [Source IDs, URLs/files, relevant passages] CONFIRMED FACTS: [Claims and conditions supported by that evidence] UNRESOLVED: [Missing or conflicting facts] CONSTRAINTS: [Tone, format, length, scope] ACCEPTANCE CHECKS: [How a person will judge the result]
Where do you put the material?
- Save a copy of the context pack for the task.
- Paste it into your chosen AI service with the relevant passages or attach the permitted source files using that service's supported controls.
- Ask for questions about missing input before requesting the final draft.
- Keep the source files and final pack with the output so a reviewer can trace the facts.
Check whether the missing input is now visible
- The exact product/project and intended reader are named.
- Facts have usable sources and retain conditions.
- Open questions are explicit instead of silently filled in.
- The output's required shape and review criteria are clear.
